A couple of mornings a week I meet up with a group of local women from my community for an early morning bathe. We call ourselves the Better Beach Babes and we 'bob' - we descend on our wee beach at 7.30am, twice a week, all year round and spend approximately 20 minutes 'bobbing' in the water, laughing and chatting in our togs. It is spectacular! Yes it is cold!
During the darker, winter months, if the morning was fine, we were treated to beautiful sunrises, just as the sun crept over the Orongorongo Ranges. On these days, the early sun reflected on the water, creating pools of stunning golden cirlces. These rings are inspired by that experience.
Each ring is a one-off - hand crafted using the lost wax casting technique. After casting, each ring has had 23.5ct gold applied using the keum boo technique and has a thin layer of clear resin over the gold to protect from scratching.
There are seven rings in this range - varying sizes. See the main photo for the classication of each ring.
Ring size US 8.0 - 8.25
Size of circle on top of the ring - approx 35mm x 33mm
