A 'girls' trip to Hawaii in 2019 involved a swimming competition at Waikiki Beach (ending in a sea rescue of several hundred people, including myself), spending a crazy night on a lava field and then a roadie (in a Mustang coup) around the northern beaches of O'ahu. It was on our roadie that I found some beautiful pieces of coral. It is illegal to remove coral from Hawaiian beaches so I managed to take moulds of several pieces to bring back to NZ. I love the inside of the coral, each divet is like looking into a star, the detail is exquisite. I've used the moulds I took during that trip for a number of castings since then and you will find me using it in a number of pieces of jewellery.
The ring was originally modelled in wax, cast into sterling silver and then set with the lab emerald. I have also made one with a blue sapphire.
White finish with polished highlights and lab emerald gem stone.
