I use the lost wax casting process to make alot of my jewellery pieces. It is a time consuming process that involves making a wax model of the finished piece, having a mould made of it and then having it cast in precious metal. The process enables me to work with melted wax to make my models, allowing me to mimic the flow and movement of water. I enjoy the process of playing with the melted wax as much as the piece of jewellery that I create. It has taken me a long time to master the technique I use so that the wax is flowing freely but I retain just enough control to shape it. Unlike jewellery that is created using a 3d printer, every piece created is utterly unique. No two pieces will ever be the same. This technique is used in a lot of my jewellery, including these flow earrings.
